The global manufacturing systems and supply chains have faced big challenges in the COVID-19 pandemic, forcing the business world to reconsider the capacity to quickly recover from the difficulties of its operations. This represents a paradigm change from the recent stress on production and distribution efficiencies. The manufacturing and distribution processes have created a new benchmark by implementing the methodologies of predictive intelligence, agility toward crisis response, and the successful application of smart devices.
If manufacturers want to develop their capabilities well in this new environment and sustain themselves during future crises of this magnitude, they must resolve key questions like how to use technology in a strategic manner? Or what machine intelligence will do to cater to their business needs? That means not only resuming operations in a safe and responsive way but setting the groundwork for long-term recovery through the successful integration of IT and operational technology systems.
The critical to this transformation is the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT). With the proper use of sensors and analytics tools, manufacturers can collect and do an analysis of data from every point in the manufacturing process that can lead to business excellence.
The IIoT can be a powerful tool for protecting business continuity, employee safety, and economic security during COVID – 19 pandemic.
Machine intelligence could also help in identifying the risk hierarchy in a community during the pandemic and lower the risk of spread, by categorizing patients in terms of the type of care they receive based on the forecasted course of their COVID-19 infection.
Machine Learning (ML) techniques can also be used in healthcare to categorize patients into moderate and severe groups based on clinical criteria, allowing them to discover more information about the impact of the virus on the community.
In addition to improved risk hierarchy identification, ML could also help researchers to understand more about the virus, leading them to better target and treat COVID-19 patients.
Let us take the opportunity to learn more insights from Dr. Siba Kumar Udgata, Professor, School of Computer and Information Sciences, University of Hyderabad. The webinar will discuss the implementation of Industrial IoT and Machine intelligence techniques in Public Health Management during the current pandemic.

The inaugural address of the session will be made by Prof. (Dr.) Atmanand, the respected director of MDI Murshidabad
