I'm sitting here watching this with a full stomach after having seconds at dinner and thinking how much that would hurt if I needed it right now. I took a class in high school called Life Management when I was 14, and we were taught this as part of our CPR certification training. You have to stay up to date, though. Some of the stuff we learned back then is outdated now.

my 5 year old was choking on a grape while watching the TV. He was visibly gasping for air and struggling. Did this maneuver on him and the grape popped out of his mouth. By God, we've never bought grapes for us any more since then.

I saved my husband’s life. I had to stand behind him on a couple steps to do it because he is 6’1” and I’m only 5’3”. It was hard to do but I kept at it. Finally a huge chunk of meat flew across the room from the force. If he was alone I seriously don’t think he would have made it.
Just because someone’s life is saved by another, does not mean they can even say thank you.
People are people and do what people do. Go fiqure.
