WuWa's 1.2 story doesn't feel like a filler at all. If I were to be honest, I actually liked the little focus on Xiangli Yao, as well as Jinzhou cast being given enough screentime and purposeful involvement. What made it even better is the time where others like Calcharo, Verina and Mortefi show up, which is actually a great touch!

And man... XIANGLI YAO IS MAJESTIC AF

I think the reason that makes the story of 1.2 good is because of how the story is told.
Imo, storytelling is much more important than storyline.
Your game/movie/novel can have a super complex storyline with deep and dark lore, but if you fuck up the “telling”, your story will still be shitty at the end of the day.
By contrast, story like DMC3 can have a super simple storyline with nothing deep in terms of lore, but the storytelling and the characters are so well-executed that it makes the story as a whole great.
It’s also the same reason why Dune 1984 is shitty while the new Dune is so good despite both have the same storyline and Dune 1984 have more lore than Dune 2019.

Yeah yangyang's voice improvement is one of the best thing about 1.2 update since it tells us how much important the review of players are that they really changed something like yangyang's voice.

I forgot that I was playing a gatcha game haha. Everything runs and feels so smootb. The cutscenes are some of the best out there and characters are better and better tlwith each update.

Man, this didn't feel like a filler patch whatsoever. I absolutely love the story quests we got with Zhezhi and the Xiangli Yao stuff we got during the event. The in game animations have become even more expressive, the music both in and out of cutscenes added to this event is such a step up, the voice acting quality in EN is significantly better, the event is pretty fun, relaxing, and you can tell that Kuro put a bunch of time, love, and polish into it. Absolutely enjoying myself and its not even the second half yet.

My favorite part of the 1.2 story is the whole sonoro section of Xiangli Yao's.
Especially the story telling on Yao's friend.

I can feel the despair, hopelessness, and dread. I really like the way they tell you how dangerous and unpredictable the Waveworn Phenomena and Tacet Fields are.

That whole sonoro section gives off Surviving Lucem(PGR story) vibe to me.

i love how it keeps getting better and better since i don't quite like stagnancy.. so far they keep suprising me and i'm quite sure it will be the same in 1.3 since even in 1.2 which i don't have much thought at first it blew me away so with the hype of 1.3 which continue the main story unlike 1.2 ofc my expectation gonna spike up

zhezhi is a keeper for lifetime as for waifu compare to others.most of other waifu can kill you when you piss them off or asleep.zhezhi only tickles you til death by her paint brush ahahahaha.

What most impressed me from 1.2 is Zhezhi, she's a great and funny character, still decided to skip her because of her play style, but yeah she's become one of my fav character.

Event quest is basically Xiangli Yao's companion story without it being companion story. I really didn't feel like it's a filler patch, the story exceeded my expectations. It's only a shame that they did it as tutorial quest instead of main story quest so I can't reply the lines and can't see the memorial pictures in gallery.

I feel like we needed a breather in between Acts V-VII and upcoming Act VIII which most likely would happen at The Black Shores and this patch nailed it.

Wuthering waves 1.2 story is top notch even though it's regarded as a "filler" patch. Hoyo shills classic doom posting as usual, when they can't read. It's far beyond them. 1.2 is already better than most boring storylines in Genshit.

Xiangli yao, JP VA is killer one damn. 😂 Never regrets switched to JP language 😅. This patch doesn't give me a vibe like filler one. Kuro is surprising us in each patch. Keeps cooking kuro.
