Solo in Russia’s most dying region : PSKOV

Hi, I’m Eli! I travel in Russia, and my goal is to visit all its regions. So far I’ve visited 47 of them, and the next one is Pskov region. Pskov region is one of the most ancient Russian lands, it’s a real reserve of historical and cultural legacy and amazing nature. At the same time, it’s considered to be one of the most depressing regions with the record of population decline in the entire country. Let’s explore Pskov city and the village life in this region.

Wow. Wonderful video. I did not realize Russia is as beautiful as it is. From the United States, Colorado and love nature. I learned that the collapse of the government has devastating results to the people. Russia and the United States have been enemies my entire life, but your videos have shown me, that we are mostly alike. We share many of the same basic emotions, desires for peace, a good life for our selves and future generations. Now the governments that represent us, do not really represent that part of humanity. They represent the ruling class of the world. About 4000 billionaires are oligarchs. They live where they like, visiting the world in luxury. They do not represent the average Russian or American. They represent themselves and their tribe. It is their world, they live off the rest of us. Your videos are wonderful, your approach is respectful and warm. I wish you well.

Pskov was the first stop on my visit to Russia. I crossed the border from Estonia on a trip that would take me next to Novgorod, then St. Petersburg, then Karelia. I see what you are doing in this video, concentrating on the remote islands in Lake Psovkoe. For me, however, it was the depth of the history of the region, the beauty of the medieval architecture and a brush with the history of the tradition of the painting of icons. A visit to the Holy Dormiton Monastery in Pechory encapsulated what I enjoyed about my visit to this region. This was the first and, at this point, my only visit to Russia. When peace returns and things settle down, I hope to come back. When I do, Pskov will again be my first stop: this time, I hope to spend more time there. Thank you for this video.

Im a Russian adoptee, as far as I know I was born in Pskov Oblast, its ao interesting to see my home region today, as I dont remember any of it from when I was a baby. Your video really showed how amazing a location it is, as does all your content with all the places you visit!
