Yep, and you can bet that will be extended. It is demand versus availability. What would you do when fuel is expensive and, for the country, which has a public transport system that saves money in the long run. Wind, water and sun is cheaper than oil from Russia. It has been on the cards for a long time, in the same way as a living wage for each person from a certain age. Seem to remember there was a pilot scheme somewhere in Canada. Where everyone had a fixed income, and those who made more paid for the whole system. And it actually did work...

this is perfect for people visiting the west and the north. the west is super dense and you can visit a bunch of cities in a day while the north is pretty empty in the middle, making trainrides much faster and less of a hassle. Its not so good for the south or the east because train is pain in those areas.


this makes seeing 3 giant statues in a day very cheap.

I'm sure free transportation will come in a few years, but not as fast as we all hope. The 9€ Ticket will in my opinion end after the summer, because the gouvernment has to fear packed trains and busses as corona hotspots when it gets cold again

It's not just Trains‼️ You can use them for busses too like I do... every single person I know, bought this ticket 🎟 🤣 If this works like the Healthcare system, prison system, education system and other things... Oh boi, all the other EU countries will follow us, like always and even try to make it better... that's why so many people consider Germany the Head of Europe 😄 In the last 30 Years Germany gets better and better. Did you heard about the "Bedingungsloses Grundeinkommen"? This thing is talked about in the last 3 years... we will maybe try it in 5-10 years 🤷‍♂️
