SESSION TITLE: RACING TO LAST PLACE: DEATH WITHOUT A DIGITAL EVOLUTION

Speaker:
Henna Karna | Chief Data Officer | Managing Director | AXA XL

Abstract:
Although the importance of data is impossible to ignore, organizations that are committed to being data-driven must take a thorough look at a few key factors: (1) The positioning of their data strategy across other ‘strategies’; (2) The importance of building data assets and products; (3) The delineation across Data & IT; (4) The clarity of the target state and what a digital firm would need to behave like.

In this session, we will walk through some key characteristic of a data strategy. We will walk through some examples of how we have been able to achieve remarkable success in our approach here at AXA XL (Global Commercial, ~$20B firm, across 52 countries). The need for healthy and collaborative partnership across Data and IT will be highlighted as a necessary goal to encourage positive culture within the firm. And lastly, we will also talk about the metrics and measurements that will make sure we will get to our target state and not be stuck in place.
