Here's some more real-world numbers. I have a Lightning with the extended range battery and I can get 205 miles when towing my 18 ft boat. Granted, my boat + trailer weighs about 2, 000 lbs which is much less than the Mastercraft. 205 miles gets me everywhere I need to take my boat, and back home, so I have no complaints.

When *not* towing I can easily get the full 310 miles that Ford advertises.

The idea of a weekend away and having to charge the car over night away from the camp is the most non ausie thing to date

Good EP Mat. Interesting! Unfortunately I won’t ever have issue of needing to know if my $230k Ute will tow my $250k boat to camp. That’s a rich man’s problem.

So when you have eight F150 Lightnings all needing that charge station at the lake camp ground on a long weekend - someone isnt getting home are they? Long way to go before EVs are even close to meeting expectations.

Great comparison, but with a $250, 000 price tag, I simply can’t see the Lightening being worth it anytime soon.
Not to mention that half a day and a full night only gave you approx 50% (given there was charge left). Nah thanks. Might ok for caravan park jumping though.

The answer is actually no, if you went for a day trip and couldn't charge overnight.
I know if I'm your mate driving the Ram, I'm not waiting for you at the servo so you can charge your EV 😂

Put a honda genny in the frunk too charge it in remote areas and compare the fuel used too recharge it

WOW, a whole 200km (124 miles) range. That's pathetic. In the US, that isn't enough range to get from my house to one of the major lakes. YES, the Rebel uses a lot of petrol, but how hard is it to refill? I'm sure there are petrol stations fairly conveniently located to refuel and it won't take but a few minutes to do so.

Brilliant video mate. Well covered and spoken on the Lightning test. What beautiful backyard you have there in Queensland.

I think they are a awesome idea just as you say though they are not there yet for long distance. Unless you have a van and are stopping heaps at powered sites. The best thing about them is if you are at a powerd site you can park up for a few days and change it up. Saving heaps on fuel

I don’t care what anyone says, no electric motor will ever be able to do what a diesel engine has done. No questions asked

So it’s not practical for Australia 😂, and for 250k, it’ll be interesting to see how many they sell. A American YouTube channel did a comparison with the standard size tyres on the F150 and the range was still horrible haha.

Except u dont get ya car at camp because its off at the changing station. How much did it cost to charge it back up at the shop?

So impractical. Yes the electric has amazing power and torque but nobody is seriously going to tow a big boat and go camping with a lightning. Can you imagine telling your wife that you’re probably going to have to stop on the way home for an hour because your cars flat. Usually everyone is buggered a dying to get home. Lighting is just a toy.

Is there any way you could plug in a solar panel in to charge it up enough ??
Just a question

Typical EV propaganda, he gave us the figures for the petrol dollars then made zero mention about the cost of recharging the other. Even if it’s substantially less it is far from free.
