Woman nearly swept away during king tides season at Oregon Coast

The video posted on the Cannon Beach Facebook page shows a woman being swept away by a powerful wave before staggering to shore.

The news report said he was quite a ways above her on a dune and had zoomed in, he had no way to reach her. The bizarre part is her running back towards the egress when the tide receded, strange state of mind.

I grew up on the Oregon coast. Common sense stay well back away from the winter storm surf!!! Darwin award winner for sure, just a matter of time. Hope nobody drowns with her.

She’s so lucky that she wasn’t hit by one of the logs in the surf. Those logs are water logged and extremely heavy. They will knock you unconscious or hit you in the back as you’re running away, paralyzing you or worse.

This person is not smart enough to leave the house, definitely no where near smart enough to go near water, unless it is a shallow sink, and then only with adult supervision. Darwin nearly claimed another one.

It wasn't a bad thing that he kept filming, he was quite a distance because he heeded the warnings.

Everyone saying the cameraman should’ve helped her. The tides would’ve swept him away as well, no one is strong enough to fight strong tides. There were warnings of King Tides all week, this lady shouldn’t have been no where near the water. I’m not saving a random person if it’s going to risk my life. Natural selection at its finest.
