I dont have Sprite Lit default, just Sprites/default and it will not let me add the 009 texture to the material, any ideas?

I couldn't follow this guide. When I create a new particle system I don't get particles like you do. I get big white billboards. When I add the smoke sprite material I just get the sprite displayed on the billboard. It looks really ridiculous. I am using the HDRP. Making a project with the HDRP seems to mean many guides don't work.
