These MP's, along with The Bank Of England and lenders, should ditch variable rate mortgages and offer fixed only at a competitive rate ( 3% - 4%). This would give everyone stability, however home owners are now struggling due to the rate increase, resulting in many defaults and possible repossessions. How can the public buy into the economy when they are looking at £500-£800 mortgage payment increases?
