These are better than a dedicated astro rigs, no wires, all in one unit, easy setup, can do good astrophotography with these and process the fits, etc, just like you would with astrophotography. by default its an EAA instrument but can go deeper and process the indivial fits images. For many this is the future of telescopes. Same as the cellphone has replaced the bulky DSLR cameras for most people and almost as good, but only the real dedicated use DSLR cameras, but most people just just a phone its more conventant. Same as these smart scopes, are the future for most people

I have a setup with a 9.25" can do EAA nd have cooled camera, etc, takes 20 mins to setup. Getting a Seestar S50 and have a Dwarf 2. Setup time less than 2 Mins, all in one, no cables or several trips so leaning more towards these smart scopes. Less bothersome to use.

I just bought the Vespera Passengers edition. I was planning on using it for the solar eclipse in April. There is one small dilemma that needs to be solved. The Vespera will not operate in solar mode without the solar filter but you can not photograph the corona during totality with the solar filter on. I asked Vaonis about this and they sent me a cryptic message that suggests they are working on something. How do you plan to photograph totality?

Is there any specific instructions on how to do this first? I took mine out today and the sun was mid in sky, I had my solar lease on and it said to move the arm down until it points in the ground. I messed that up and then I hit confirm the lease was on but it never align up to the sun. sorry need baby kids instructions if you can help?

Interesting. I use those "white" filters to look at the Sun, but it would be nice from inside the house in the AC.

Is the 25GB of memory a concern with the Vespera?

It got a decent picture for what it is, but is there way of increasing optical magnification to get a bit more detail on the sun spots? like adding some kind of Barlow lens or is it a fixed focal length?

Nice Shot of thr sun there. I see you have Taken a Still image. Did You try Taking a 'Video' of The sun. Maybe you can Import it on to the computer and process it in Autostackkert for a better Picture?
