I want an entire video on Dave’s daily driver and why he picked it. 🙌🏽

His shop looks like some people's vacation home. Clean and relaxing

In 1973 Ford motor company had a recall on the 390 engine for their line. Bore was bad, it was so bad it wiped out the front bearing within just a few hours, I was working for Lakewood Ford land in Denver, Colorado. We had about 50 of them out in the yard, I got so good at replacing that short block. I could do it in 5.2 hours which paid 16 hours. If I remember correctly. Flat rate at $10.50 an hour, fun memories! Fun fun fun!.

Love this guy' sense of humor and pure honesty. One of the few who hasn't sold-out to any sponsorship nonsense.

I started building engines back in the mid-90s for a NASCAR Cup team. Every build I have done for customers I always machine everything like I would for a race engine. If that's all you do you get pretty good at it especially when back then we would probably do 40 engines a year. Me and the owner. Old school NASCAR driver was my mentor. His favorite saying was we’re making chicken salad out of chicken shit. He was one of the last owner-operators in NASCAR. We were always trying to do one a week and that included dyno tuning on the engine dyno then later he got a chassis dyno and we went down an exhaust rabbit hole. My ears are ringing like crazy right now and have been for several years. Always were hearing protection!
Great video and awesome work ethic Dave. I always enjoy your videos. Thanks for keeping the knowledge alive. Need to teach all the tricks you can.

I'm retired from Chrysler Corp and when it comes to diesels. The 7.3 was the best engine ever made. Wished I kept my 97 super crew.

I would love to have the money to have my 7.3 brought back to life the way Dave does it. It was my dad's pickup and he passed away in '21. Now she's mine and my son will get to enjoy the ol gal someday too. Just have to make the old girl run again. Someday I hope.

Being 30 years old, I always took a bus... If I could afford it, I'd buy a certified beater from this man. Man knows his car and I've learned a lot to help friends save money and all sorts.

"Do it right, or don't do it at all", that is what my dad always used to say! Watching from Europe!

I’m having Dave’s shop do my 7.3. His attention to details that he does and teaches his people is what sold me. Anyone that put that much money into specialty equipment is a serious builder.
Nice work Dave! 👍
