I fly a virtual Black Hawk in a flight simulator suit designed to help pilots survive dangerous conditions like flying blind through fog or at night. Equipped with a haptic suit, biometric sensors, and an AR headset, I try (and fail) to fly like a pro at the University of Maryland. This tech is being designed to one day prevent deadly crashes like the ones that killed JFK Jr. and Kobe Bryant.

Pilots can already fly through things they can't see including fog. The first CAT III approach was conducted in 1969. Airliners land im these conditions every day
