Hi, hello, ex-hotel worker here of 9 years. Some things you mention are indeed "dirty" - but depending on the hotel, they're definitely not in this order.
For example, my old hotel had disposable room keys that were only used per guest. The housekeeping cleaned and sanitized both the phones and remotes and covered them in a "yep, I'm clean too" sling. Our housemen shampooed the rooms once every two weeks. In addition, the linens were ALWAYS replaced by newly washed and dried linen - we never reused in between guests.
So, again, it's dependent on the hotel. But as from my experience, a lot of these are incorrect. That is, unless you're staying at a very inexpensive hotel.

This makes zero sense. Are you implying the bedding is not washed between guests??? Pillow cases??? wtf!
Where was this assessed? Roach motel?

All carpet is all gross all the time.
Don’t lick the phone.

I much prefer hotels that have comforters that are covered by sheet situations rather than the old school style bed covering that is clearly never changed or washed between guests.
I would always tear that sucker off first thing and relegate it to the floor with the dirty carpet for my entire stay. Yuck.

Ooh yes, even the room key. I didn’t think of that.
