You should program it so without joystick input, it snaps back to home, and that a joystick moved to a position and kept there equates to the platform being stationary; essentially, if a plane was placed on top of the joystick, its rotational values would be applied to the platform
You might need a stepper motor, though

It would look thousands of times better if the maze and frame was 3D printed, it would do the project a lot more justice, In my opinion.

Put a clear glass cover on it, make it take quarters, put a hole at the end side, and make it use gumballs instead of marbles. Its a game where you always win and when you win. You get a gumball. Oh and you get quarters like a vending machine for those who run it. An idea
