Why does it seem that God is silent to some people, both believers and non-believers? Peter van Inwagen Rea addresses this concern, first by describing how the problem is often conceived by using a dialogue between an atheist and a theist, then by laying out an argument. The dialogue gives some insight into a response to the problem, but in Part 2 I explore much more of PvI's response.
