That representation of your house probably looks more convincing from the sky. Its called flight simulator, not walking simulator. This is actually about what I expected when people said they could see their house in the game.

Not only would I like to see my house, but would like to go inside and see who is there, talk to them. Then go to my room and correct my math homework.

I flew to my house in this game on Series X and it was definitely there, but it was just a crude representation of it. It wasn’t the correct color or exact shape, but it was indeed there in some way.

I’m suprised that they even added houses and not just a mesh. The amount of optimization to render millions of houses with data store is amazing and their framework is impeccable, not even imagining the lighting engine and plane models and data…

It also depends on if Google maps has a 3-D map of the city, if it doesn’t the game AI fills in the blanks, but if it is a 3-D map city like Las Vegas you can see your house

Tbh that's still pretty damn accurate. Thought I was going to be disappointed but I'm kind of impressed.

I went to my house in flight simulator it did not look the same but there was the bridge outside my house, the roundabout and my whole road. It looks quite good for a game built for flying planes

I typed in my coordinates and it's not even remotely similar. Just completely random houses that are like x3 bigger than anything on my street.

The question is not (can you see every detail of your house?) I am not a pilot but I have been a flight simmer for many years. And this level of graphics are a gigantic leap from anything in the past or anyting in the present.

I mean at least it isn't a copy paste house and it actually tries to replicate the homes. This in itself shows the care and detail in this game and its why I love it and it gets my vote for GOTY

just to be clear, you're doing this on a photogrammetry area, the houses will look more accurate to their real life counterpart however its clear the technology isn't the best thing ever and complex geometry will get turn into mostly unnaccurate blobs, it's still impressive tho, especially when you fly over it. areas without photogrammetry will look better from the ground as they will be replaced by actual in game assets, it won't be as accurate to real life as it will use generic buildings/houses but it won't look like blobs. it's still an impressive feature, I mean they managed to make photogrammetry look way better than it does in any other software

Thanks for taking the time to show this. I thought the sim used actual satellite imagery (now that I think about that, what kind of satellite would we expect to be used to show real life houses, bandwidth, etc?? - I THOUGHT hi speed internet was going to give me this.). Megascenery earth on FSX ( from the air) is WAY more satisfying - actual aerial photography.
