Bill Tilghman - Old West Lawman

Показать описание
Bill Tilghman - the legendary lawman best known for hunting down bad guys in Indian Territory - got his start as a teenage buffalo hunter on the Kansas frontier. After that, he spent years patrolling the tough streets of Dodge City with the likes of Wyatt Earp, Bat Masterson, and Charlie Bassett before moving on to Oklahoma where he did more of the same. Friends with guys like Luke Short and Doc Holliday. Rubbed shoulders with outlaws like Dave Rudabaugh and J.J. Webb, Tilghman wore many hats throughout his life. Senator, husband, father, scout, rancher, saloon owner, movie producer, actor, and then finally – at the ripe old age of 70 – Tilghman pinned on a badge yet again to take on the corrupt boom town of Cromwell, Oklahoma. #wildwest #cowboy #history

FWIW, I started listening a year ago because your early episodes were raw and it felt like listening to a buddy tell stories. I never listen to any other old west podcasts. I know finding greater success means refining your work. But, don't be embarrassed by the older stuff as that's why some of us are here.

Please remember there was a complete change in our society from the 1880's to this present time. Little to nothing is normal practices from then, and much if not all has passed into history. Sounds like Bill was a man of his changing times. Thank you BB, I find your podcasts very enjoyable.

Thank you for this YouTube content. Being from Oklahoma, I've only heard Bill as an old west hero. Good to get a more level report on his life.

I lived in New Mexico and worked building chain restaurants and BIA houses on virtually every reservation in most all the of the state and having a keen interest in the local history know you are doing a very good job of relating it. I worked with a latino older fellow whose great grandfather was a member of the Silva gang which hung out with Billy for a period of time. Keep up the good work.

More great content. Thanks for all you do. Truly appreciated from me. My car rides and lunch breaks are now productive. Or at least I can use that excuse.

The best Okie land rush film, Cimarron 1931. Love the old films. They were closest to actual happening. Won Academy Award that year. Great rush scene and the hero is a man, with' feet of clay'. A Western aficionado, such as yourself, should watch. Good gunplay.

The lessons learned from the good, the bad and the in between people and events of these times is priceless. I love the new name, even though it’s the only name I have known as a new listener.
