It sounds to me that you are the actual church. I appreciate the fact that you chose to attend to the needs of the one in need and not a body of people in a building.

I have been homeless on and off for much of my life and have similar challenges as the one you have chosen to help. This world is not a kind place. The only saving grace is the light that shines in some people. Without that, without the chance meetings of people who are awake in God, I would have given up a very long time ago.

All roads lead back to God. I have also been Church hurt. For years. And I have not attended any church, but have been on my own spiritual journey. Yes, that has involved learning about other religions. Allow your loved one the time to explore, it is important for their spiritual growth. God is not going anywhere! He will wait patiently.

Church hurt certainly is real. I think one of the main reasons it hurts so deeply is because it is so unexpected. We don't see it coming. Our brothers and sisters in Christ are the last people we would ever think would hurt us. Those wounds take such a long time to heal. The main thing we have to remember is that it wasn't God Who inflicted the pain. To blame Him is the worst thing we could ever do. If we allow Him to, He will bind those wounds and apply His healing balm that will soothe our broken hearts. I pray that your family member will see the genuine love of Jesus and realize He would never inflict that kind of pain. May God heal each one of your broken hearts. The worse thing is when people gossip and outright lies are told. We just left a church, on a good note, and currently trying to find a church. But we know all churches are not like that. We forgive and if we fill the need we go. We live in a very small community where it's not hard for these kind of things to happen.

It is so sad that you have felt the need to leave your church, but understandable that you want to support your family member. Please remember that the bible tells us to forgive not just seven times but seventy times seven. I hope and pray that you will find a new church home and receive healing of this hurt. Thank you so much for your honesty, you are not alone, ive been going thru friction between myself and other sisters in my church that i do Bible study with, but ive been praying for God to help me forgive and forget the offenses. Hello Sisters, I've also been hurt by several churches. Have you tried to minister to other homeless folks? Matthew 18:20 God says "Where 2 or more are gathered in my name, there I am with them." Even if it is just Mike, Martina & Valentine worshiping together in the park. You are worshiping in God's church. I enjoy worshiping in God's beautiful creation of nature.
Thursday I had 3 biopsies taken. 1 on my right cheek & 2 on my back. Then Friday Carlos was in his dance class at his adult day program. They were learning to breakdance he hurt his pinky finger. Looked like he had dislocated it. Thankfully it is only sprained. He has to wear a splint for 5 days.

thanks for sharing. I have been prayingn often for you and I know that God is taking care of you. I hope this doesnt sound shallow, but as I have prayed for you over the past month I truly do love you in Christ. You are just such beautiful people. yes church hurts are very real. when I was a teenager I was rescued off the streets by a christian family who took me into their home to live. when they took me to their church, the pastor said you cant bring her here, she has been living on the streets, she will be a bad influence on our youth. truth is, I was harmless and would have caused no trouble. we must forgive those who hurt us and we must never blame Jesus who loves us so much, for what humans do. Keep your eyes on Jesus, he will not forsake you. continuing prayers for you.

Blessing to you!!! I myself am not a member of a church right now. I have been a member and worker in churches for decades in my life; however, for the past 10 years due to other reasons - horrible. I so understand and God sees many many of HIS Children who are churchless right now due to the enemy in the churches wreaking havoc among the Christians. I worship and pray in my home and sing to the Lord in my home and pray to find a Christian church who is not woke or politically correct or ostracizes people who are poor and do not have a leadership position in the community. Churches are so carnal now and so hypercritical and I think God is angry. Throughout the Old and New Testament, God Father and Jesus Son of God command, stress, and exemplify to help and hold up the poor and NOT to call anyone "common". It is an epidemic in churches now. There are actually people (and I have known some) who choose a church by how many luxury cars are parked in the church parking lots!!!! Is that not disgusting? ....HE will leave the 99 sheep to rescue and nurture the 1 sheep! Bless you all!! Praying for you and your friend who has been wounded.
