It's called decompressing. I'm sure he didn't want to bring work home. My husband does it all the time. He usually sends me a text letting me know he is outside. Never take it personal.

I do that. Not because I don’t want to see my family. It’s just knowing I’m finally going to get the chance to unwind from the entire day but then knowing that I start another job too once I walk through my front door. It brings a small sense of peace and relaxation just sitting in your car to yourself for a moment.

I let my husband stay in the car for 15 minutes because he had a long day at work ( Military) and he needs to decompress before he reaches into the house with our kids running around screaming, then he’ll play video games to release even more. I greet him with a hug and a kiss and I get a slap on the butt and good sex later in the night that’s all it takes and I will not take that away from him. I wouldn’t complain about it if I were you.
