I was pretty sure it was archery, especially considering Geena Davis' interest in the sport, but I got the movie wrong! I thought "Brave" was the catalyst. (Well, Disney and/or Pixar are franchises…kind of…)

Knowing that Geena Davis once tried to qualify for the American archery team was helpful.

For whatever reason, I would've guessed soccer. The mention of Geena Davis should've been a clue that archery was the correct response since she is an Olympic level archer.

Baseball came to my mind first as I was thinking of "A League of Their Own" as I know Geena Davis was in that. I realized that movie came out in the 90s after the show ended but I never would had guessed archery at all. Not a Hunger Games fan, so that's why 🤷‍♂️

I knew it. I kept thinking of sports movies in 2012, but hardly sports movies have franchises. And the answer was most obvious with it

I would've gotten this right, completely accidentally, because I've heard that Geena Davis is an Olympic-quality archer. Could not think of any 2012 film featuring female athletes.

I got this one immediately due to Geena's archery connection. Had zero clue on the 2012 movie angle though, but when Hunger Games was revealed I did an "oh, duh!" Back when Geena was getting serious and into archery and trying out for the Olympic team, she was coming into the bowling alley I worked at and playing pool quite often. :)

I had the correct response, but I didn't think of The Hunger Games being the franchise in question. I weirdly thought it was the MCU and Hawkeye, so I guess I got lucky.

The moment I read the clue, I though “archery, Hunger Games”. That said, knowing Grenada Davis is really into archery certainly helped, and I’m not sure if I would have gotten it otherwise.

I got it right at the buzzer. Love it when I get it right and all the other contestants get it wrong.
There were a lot of clues. 2012 gave me an idea of when the movie was, calling it a franchise movie told me there was more than one of them, the Geena Davis thing should have hinted at me that Gina Davis was an archery buff which I did not know until after reading these comments down here. I figured it wasn’t one of the big sports like soccer or tennis because a 100% increase in women’s participation in those sports would be mathematically not likely. So the sport in question had to be one of the lesser played sports where an increase in participation to 100% for women would not be that difficult to achieve. so I figured the movie had to have a really strong female lead, Hunger games popped into my head very quickly, and I guessed archery. it was a good guess for me, I really didn’t know if I had it right until the answer was revealed so I wasn’t super confident in it.

I could not for the life of me think of a franchise film that had to do with women in sports. My best guess was mis-remembering when "Bend It like Beckham" came out and saying soccer.

Definitely a lot of misdirection here…Geena Davis and sports makes you think League of Their Own, Sports and Movies makes you think a sports movie…I definitely got lost in the woods on this one, but knowing Geena Davis prowess in archery is about the only hint from this.

Couldn't remember years that movies came out so I could only come up with boxing (Million Dollar Baby) or soccer (Bend It Like Beckham), but neither were franchises. I could have had five minutes and wouldn't have thought archery! Haha
