I was very surprised to see that Keanu Reeves, Alex Winter and George Carlin all reprised their roles in this cartoon series.

The first season of the animated series was produced by Hanna-Barbera (Yogi Bear, Huckleberry Hound, The Flintstones, Top Cat, The Jetsons, Wacky Races, Scooby-Doo, Josie And The Pussycats, Harlem Globetrotters, Hong Kong Phooey, Popeye, Mork & Mindy, Smurfs, Midnight Patrol, Tom & Jerry Kids, The Pirates of Darkwater, Young Robin Hood). I caught a few of them when I lived in Maryland back when they were on (1990-1991), and they were pretty funny, if a bit repetitive. I'm not surprised it went off the air after a year; but it was still fun seeing all the original actors having fun voicing their old characters, while the most bogus sequel was being made at the same time.

For the second season in 1991, the animated series switched production companies and networks, now airing on Fox Kids, and produced by DIC, the same producers responsible for Inspector Gadget, The Littles, Heathcliff, Wolf Rock TV, Jayce And The Wheeled Warriors, M.A.S.K., Care Bears, The Real Ghostbusters, Slimer! And the Real Ghostbusters, Dennis the Menace, The All-New Dennis the Menace Dinosaucers, The New Archies, ALF: The Animated Series, ALF Tales, Hello Kitty, C.O.P.S./CyberC.O.P.S., Beany & Cecil, The Super Mario Brothers Super Show!, G.I. Joe, Captain N, Camp Candy, New Kids On The Block, Captain Planet & the Planeteers, Swamp Thing, Hammerman, Chip and Pepper's Cartoon Madness!!, ProStars!, Wish Kid, Where's Waldo?, Defenders of Dynatron City, The New Three Stooges (repackaged version), Super Dave, Battletoads, Sonic the Hedgehog, Double Dragon, Madeline, Carmen Sandiego, Street Sharks, Sailor Moon, Mummies Alive!, Archie's Weird Mysteries, Mary-Kate & Ashley In Action!, Liberty's Kids, Super Dumo Sumos, Knights of the Zodiac, Trollz, and Horseland, and later some 3rd-party shows that are not in the DIC library that would be acquired by DIC, like Filmation's The Archies, the 80's Berenstain Bears, All Dogs Go to Heaven: The Series, and The Smurfs). As Fox was also planning on airing a new live-action version series with the same name, the cast was replaced, and the leads were now voiced by Evan Richards and Christopher Kennedy, the actors who would go on to portray Bill and Ted on the short-lived 1992 live-action television series. The new episodes introduced a "Squint" phone booth that could take Bill and Ted into literature, television shows, and (after shrinking them) inside the human body. The new show had trouble catching on, and after one more season, the animated Bill & Ted series was cancelled.

If it gets remastered on Blu Ray, I will order from amazon in a heartbeat cause this cartoon is part of my childhood.

I wish they would’ve released this series on Blu-ray. Ah well, at least it’s on Roku for now.

Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventures, first ran on CBS, with the voices Keanu Reeves, Alex Winter and George Carlin from the movie cast, in episodes produced at Hanna-Barbera. A year later; the show moved to Fox, as part of Fox Kids Network, but with new episodes made by DiC with a different voice cast. (Fox Kids also repeated the CBS episodes.)
