Somebody Is Always Saying Goodbye - Anne Murray

Railroad station, midnight trains
Lonely airports in the rain
And somebody stands there
With tears in their eyes

It's the same old scene, time after time
That's the trouble with all mankind
Somebody's always saying goodbye

Taxi cabs leave in the night
Greyhound buses with red tail lights
Someone's leaving and someone's left behind

Well, I don't know how things got that way
But every place you look these days
Somebody's always saying goodbye

Take two people like me and you
We could have made it, we just quit too soon
Oh, the two of us, we could have had it all
If we'd only tried

But that's the way love is, it seems
Just when you've got a real good thing
Somebody's always saying goodbye
Somebody's always saying goodbye

My mother Noreen Kimber was born in Amherst, Nova Scotia and owns and operates the Old Shipyard Beach Campground in Spencers Island, Nova Scotia. I was born in the united states to two Canadian parents. I spent all of my childhood summers in Tidnish, Nova Scotia at my Aunt Mae's cottage. The first time I heard Anne Murrays music was in Chincoteague, Virginia the summer of 1972. My family and I went for a walk on the beach near Chincoteague, Virginia and I was playing near the shore when a huge wave came up and nearly dragged me into the undertow. Fortunately my Dad was able to grab me and save me from the undertow I was almost sucked into. I remember being in the back seat of the car and hearing a dead silence for about 6 minutes or so then my mom put in an 8 track tape of Anne Murray and everything was right with the world again. Thank you Anne for sharing your beautiful talents with the world.

Anne will always be my idol, like she is to many others. This song has a lot of meaning. Just beautiful is one word comes to mind. <3 :)

Written by Bob McDill.
He said love songs should have more to say than 'Oh baby I love you'.
That's been done before, I wanted to do something different.

I think this song is played at the end of TV movie Scorned & Swindled (1984) starring Tuesday Weld. But, it may not be Anne Murray's version.
