Let that guilt go. It's important for toddlers to learn that life won't be about an adult entertaining them every moment. Yes, lots of interaction with a responsive adult is very important. However, learning to entertain yourself for periods of time is essential too.

I feel you on the guilt when cooking/cleaning. My daughter makes me sing to her if I’m busy cooking 😂

Deacon was doing a good job putting his toys in the basket. He really is growing up fast. You are a great mom❤️

Aw don’t feel guilty about not entertaining him. It’s good and necessary for kids’ brains to be bored sometimes. Especially a half hour cooking dinner. I bet over time that will help him not need as much stimulation, and improve imagination. It’s so nice you can work basically part time and still be with him. My daughter is only (nearly) 7 and I quit my job to stay at home once we had my son who is 3. I worked from home for her first 3.5 years and really a career is something you can work on at whatever part of life. Your kids are only small once, they’re only soaking you in once and vice versa. It goes so quickly and I think it’s so important to mold and shape them while they still look up to parents 🙂🙂

I feel like that too. I feel so guilty when I have to do anything without her. Hopefully that will fade with time. Glad your husband got to come home a little early. Sometimes kids just want to be near us.

My husband is a self employed carpenter and works similar hours. It’s tough some days! He’s also building our house on the side so some weeks it feels like we barely see each other

Have you tried the library or the children museum?

Children need to learn independent play so need to feel guilty it's part of growing up. ❤

Maybe try and just have leftover on the days you work in the office x

I think you mentioned it would only be once or twice a week so that way dinner is pretty much ready when you get home

Try to get something remote if you find that you are getting home too late. Ohio is cold as you know

I agree that traditional roles aren't balanced. To live substantially is to live a balanced life, including work life. Many women forget they're more than just moms 24/7.
