There are a few reasons why western countries the governments do not want their citizens to visit China. Especially the U$A.
1st to see all the Chinese super infrastructures.
2nd how China is able to keep the public areas so clean, green and organized.
3th why China is so safe even for foreigners.
4th. How Chinese education system is able to educate the people with such huge population to be so disciplined. And many more.
If those western countries people visit China and see all these, they will realize how useless and incompetent their governments are compared to the Chinese government. With so much taxes they're paying, yet their useless governments are not able to provide them the same infrastructures, cleanliness and safety to the people.
That is why their governments and government controlled media keep lying to them about how bad China is. How undeveloped China is and advises the people not to visit China. The governments do not want the people to see the real China and compare.

I live in the UK and it has to be said China and Chinese people have been portrayed very negatively here. In fact China makes the UK look like a primitive world of darkness.
