How to get what you want...

How I got here…

21: Graduated Vanderbilt in 3 years Magna Cum Laude, and took a fancy consulting job.
23 yrs old: Left my fancy consulting job to start a business (a gym).
24 yrs old: Opened 5 gym locations.
26 yrs old: Closed down 6th gym. Lost everything.
26 yrs old: Got back to launching gyms (launched 33). Then, lost everything for a 2nd time.
26 yrs old: In desperation, started licensing model as a hail mary. It worked.
27 yrs old: "Gym Launch" does $3M profit the next 6 months. Then $17M profit next 12 months.
28 yrs old: Started Prestige Labs. $20M the first year.
29 yrs old: Launched ALAN, a software company for agencies to work leads for customers. Scaled to $1.7mmo within 6 months.
31 yrs old: Sold 75% of UseAlan to a strategic buyer in an all stock deal.
31 yrs old: Sold 66% of Gym Launch & Prestige Labs at $46.2M valuation in all-cash deal to American Pacific Group. (you can google it)
32 yrs old: Started making free content showing how we grow companies to make real business education accessible to everyone (and) to attract business owners to invest or scale their businesses.

Today: Our portfolio now does $200M/yr between 10 companies. The largest doing $100M/yr the smallest doing $5M per year. Our ownership varies between 20% and 100% ownership of the companies. Many of them we invested in early and helped grow (which is how we make our money - not youtube videos).

To all the gladiators in the arena, we’re all in the middle of writing our own stories. The worse the monsters, the more epic the story.

You either get an epic outcome or an epic story. Both mean you win.

Keep crushing. May your desires be greater than your obstacles.

Never quit,

Alex

*FULL DISCLOSURE*
I make content to make money - just - on a longer time horizon than most. I want to build trust with business owners so we can find the best ones and help them scale. And if they’re awesome, write them a check and go all the way as partners.

"Made a contract with myself to be unhappy until i get what i want"

Bro I’m 20 years young. And I’m all about self improvement every single day. I would just like to say this video was so amazing. Really enjoyed your perspective.

Thinking “what would do?” is such a phenomenal way to put it ! I have like 8 notebooks with random goals written down and have barely gotten anywhere. This is the channel I’ve been needingggg. Thank you 😊

after listening to you for hours, my biggest takeaway is we all know deep down what we need to do. most of us have enough information to take our next step, but still don’t cause we don’t know what our twentieth step will be. us humans make this shit wayy harder than it needs to be. thank you, alex.

the amount of time we spend believing we can't is more thank enough time to learn how you can.

“What would Jesus do?” Or “what would a billionaire do?” This breakdown of how to reframe your identity is really powerful. Love this perspective and angle of attack.

I love this type of psychological/mindset content.
“The words you use matter”
“identity is fluid”
“be aware of the belief statements you speak upon your self”

Those are some of my favorite things you’ve said.

This is gold man. I was reading Daniel Pink book "To sell is human" and he point out how self questioning is way more productive then self affirmation. This is another perspective of the same approach. Napoleon Hill also talk about a virtual board of directors in your mind and have the people you consider your models at the table.

“Be. Do. Have.” Alex just flipped my world upside down 🤯. Appreciate the content and your book Alex I look forward to applying the mindset.

Since you talk about Atomic Habits a few times, the oldest definition of "habit" is fascinating.

Habit originally meant "to dress or to clothe" - so taking that definition, habits are the clothing of our identity.

And just like clothes that no longer fit us, we must shed them and replace them with new habits to better fit the new identity/character traits we want to have.

I LOVE THIS SHIT!

Graduated from college recently and I want to pursue a career in marketing. However, instead of getting after it, I am stuck in a bubble of fear worried that I will not succeed instead of doing something about it. I need to keep in mind that simply sitting around and hoping success will come is a waste of time. I know what I need to do and it's time that I take the necessary steps to accomplish my goals. Thanks for making videos like this!

You are best, man.

Alex, you are my inspiration bro. I literally respect you from the bottom of my heart for who you are as a person. You have influenced my life in so many ways.

A 21 years old from a third world country who went from broke to 100K a month and now just focused on learning.

The video that changed my life was "Advise for 21 years old". Don't remember the title exactly, but it was for young people.

You’re getting better at YouTube. When I subscribed not that long ago you had less than 10k followers. The growth alone that you’ve had already shows how legit you are

I do remember the first one who introduced me and my husband to the amazing concepts in this video was Rich Schefren. He taught me the BE, DO, HAVE model, then he taught me how to model the right people and do it mindfully, he taught me thats its all about action because it delivers results and results is what strengthen the believe and led to more results oriented actions and success, its not the affirmations and all of that bullshit. He is an amazing mentor just like you Alex, Thank you.💟

Years ago I realized that I did not like he person I had become. However, I did knew who I wanted to be. So I looked around me and found the people who were like the person I wanted to become. I adapted their traits one by one and replaced my bad traits with their good traits. While I am still not the person I strive to be, I have made great strides in the right direction. I always have a positive attitude and I live to help others. Thank you Alex!!!

Atomic Habits and this concept helped me loose 50lbs. I keep struggling with weight loss because I keep setting goals and falling. Then I decided to become the identity of the person who never misses a workout. And that evenaully lead to weight loss and more. Now I'm literally a fit person because I embraced the identity of a person who never misses a workout.

Started applying this to all kinds of areas in my life. It will literally change your life. Great content Alex.

Want to read 50 books a year? Ok, what kind of person do you need to be? A reader, and what kind of things does a reader do? Maybe read 30 mins a night?

Cast votes for the type of person you want to become.
