Anyways if this drama ends like every other Chinese drama he decides that he changes his mind and he actually does love her and gives her a half ass apology and because they have kids together or whatever she forgives him and forgets every horrible awful thing that he did to her and their child and how he treated them because he's super sorry everyone and also he's handsome and rich. I was originally going to put this as a comment reply, but as it comes up so often I decided to make this a post instead. So often I see people asking why subtitles put the words "he/him/she/her/it" as only "he/him" even when it's referring to a "she/her" so I'm going to explain why this happens. When it comes to Mandarin, Cantonese, or any of the 100+ regional Chinese dialects out there you need to understand that there is NO distinction between the 3 words when it is spoken, they all use the same word. When written the word for he/him is 他 ... the word for she/her is 她 ... and the word for it is 它 - so when written in English the words are all the same words - Tā - which is pronounced as "ha." The auto-translators they use to subtitle these shows obviously can't pick up the differences of which "Tā" it is - he/she/it - so they will automatically revert to the word "he" 99% of the time unless someone physically goes in and alters the .srt file used to create the subtitles.

A little info on the word "it" that most don't know, as a written word "it" doesn't get used when referring to things such as time, dates, weather, objects, etc. You can use it to refer to things such as animals, as in "There's a cat over there, it has white fur" (那边有一只猫, 它的毛是白色的), but not for writing something like "Do you like it? (你喜欢吗?) - Yes, I like it. (喜欢)." For weather - "It's raining (下雨了)". For time - "It's three in the afternoon (现在是下午三点)." For abstract ideas - "It doesn't matter (沒關係)." By the by I'm using Chinese Simplified, not Traditional as Simplified is the more widely used/taught version of the language.

At any rate, before this gets any longer I hope I've been able to shed some light on why the subs almost never use the "her/she" pronouns. Also, Chinese is not the only language that doesn't have distinctions of the male/female genders, or at very least doesn't always use a distinctive difference. For example Tagalog doesn't use a simple letter change for he/she, despite the Philippines being conquered by the Spaniards for 333 yrs, today almost no one speaks Spanish nor it is an official language of the Islands. In fact, most Austronesian people (that is the people who live in countries throughout Mainland SE Asia, Taiwan, Madagascar, and the Pacific Islands) use a gender-neutral base language. It's not just a case of putting an O or A at the end of a word that would translate automatically into he/him/she/her/etc as they do in the Western countries.

The sad thing is that in the old days the people who used to post up videos actually cared about their viewers and put the time and efforts into giving us decent videos and subtitles, they even used to reply to our comments even if it was just to say a quick thanks or whatnot ... not so today though. These posters only seem to care about putting out worse and worse shows that are nothing but carbon-copies/have no start point or endings/no decent subs/repeated or hashed up scenes/or have missing scenes/etc. Even worse is they got rid of most of the good videos to make way for this new rubbish.I really wish they'd bring back the good stuff soon, there's so many great shows I would love to watch again.
