Jihad series: Why does Islam glorify martyrdom?

With all the news reports of Muslim suicide bombers seeking martyrdom, it is only fair to ask whether Islam espouses an extreme glorification of killing non-Muslims. This video discusses who is classed as a martyr in Islam and why people who die as martyrs are viewed so admirably by Muslims. It also discusses what sort of deaths are not valid for martyrdom, what forms of jihad are considered "jihad fee sabeelillah" (jihad in the cause of God), and what invalidates such jihad.
