The beginning of the video is a hot take imo, I don't know why it's expressed with such confidence

Like, you know, people game AND work using their equipment

It'd be more expensive to buy 2 NICE keyboards, one for work and one for gaming. Both do the same job. If you want more ergonomics or a cleaner look - you get a smaller one. If you want more functionality - get the bigger one

Why would there only be one option, wtf

I game on a 100% board. I need the numpad for work. I'm not going to clutter up my workspace with an extra dedicated gaming keyboard. Seems silly.

Got my first HE keyboard today - Attack Shark K85. Got it for only £41, which is pretty decent I think for the price.

Not sure if it will make me a better gamer but having rapid trigger and DKS should at least help a little.

Thanks for the great vids.

You can take my numpad over my cold dead body 😡

I use arrow keys for movement and the number pad for weapon switches. And I prefer to use control to jump, with my pinky. None that thumb-plonking in the space bar. Full sized is the way to fit me.

It's a shame that wooting decided to go for the 'weird and proprietary' PCB approach for their """80%""" keyboard.
I got a reply on Twitter from them when they released it about how they "discovered" the "H87" (a popular standard TKL PCB) "much later in the process".
Which is a wild thing to say because the TKL format in general has been a thing since before they existed as a company.

Luckily there are other companies out there producing Hall Effect boards with more standard form factors. For custom keyboard enthusiasts out there, I think Geonworks is developing some HE custom PCBs, so it'll be available for that market too at some point.
Though personally I don't think rapid trigger is absolutely essential for gaming.

As a gamer i would never use a keyboard that isn't 100%. Other size keyboards tend to be the same price or more expensive in my experience

I genuinely feel that rapid trigger can really make the difference, just like a 60hz monitor and a 144hz monitor. Of course you can play well on 60hz but 144hz better 99% of the time. You can play well on a regular keyboard, but hall effect keyboard will most definitely make you play better

as someone with 7 or 8 keyboards, HE is really cool and is objectively better for gaming, but isn't worth it for most people. You touched on this slightly when talking about form factors, but to elaborate: if you use your keyboard for work and gaming, and aren't able to afford or don't want to have two keyboards for whatever reason, traditional mechanical switches offer a better all around experience for both work and gaming than HE switches do. If you have a dedicated keyboard for gaming it should absolutely be HE, but otherwise you'll probably be better off with just mechanical switches. Totally onboard with everything else you discussed, just thought it was worth mentioning for anyone who may be looking for a new multipurpose keyboard

Knobs are goated, but not as goated as the wooting 60he. I use a 60he modded so it sounds and looks nice

You started the video by saying don't buy a full size keyboard, but for what reason? I like my huntsman v3 pro full size, what's wrong with full size keyboards?

I just ordered the Drunkdeer 75 a few days before this video, I am super excited. They even added the new snap tap feature on it like the wooting and razer keyboard.

One thing about the layout. For gaming a 65% layout is useless, because it takes up the same space horizontally as 75% layout while 75% has F keys and this allow You to use "tilda" key as a usefull and easy to hit keybind in game. And of course You have F1-F12 keys.

But what if I need a low profile gaming keyboard...

Drunkdeer have also just released a new kaybaord, the g75 with features the simmilar to snap tap and even its own where it presses the opposite movement key for you. I think it will be coming to their other keyboards also.

Lemokey is a gamer subbrand of Keychron, just noticed they offer the G1 wireless mouse with 8k polling.

Look out for other keebs, the ones he named in the video are "mainstream" in terms of hall effect.
Just ordered a chinese one, ATK RS7 Pro. Full aluminium keeb, cool looking weight, cnc aluminium plate, 8k pooling, web software(some consider it a plus), available in a non pro or non pro without rgb options. Will reply after it arrives

Full size keyboards are fine, numpads are good for logging in with passwords and for entering numbers. Pretty much if you are an adult get a full size

Some people need a good keyboard they can game with, which they also need to use for work/productivity...
