If running is what gives you quality time with your friends and family and you find happiness doing it, by all means, go for it. Running is not necessary to become a better cyclist.

My goal is to become a better cyclist while having making time for fun on the bike. Therefore, I do cycling specific workouts. My second sport is hockey. Therefore, I fit in hockey specific movements. I don't find running necessary, but I know I can run because when I play basketball with my friends, I can keep up. That's good enough for me. My main focus is enjoying life while playing hockey and cycling. When I go run with my sister, I'll go run with the sister and have fun. That's good enough for me also.

If you also want to be very good at riding a bike up a hill. Running helps. A lot!

Im never going to get into triathlon. Would rather do mountain biking if not gravel riding. Well, maybe trail running if i had to run😂

Returned to running last year after 7 yrs. Too bad i suffered top of the foot pain after just two months into it, minadali ko masyado ramping things up, and when i was about to run again after an 8-week rest, i hurt my back lifting weights, and my body tilted a bit sideways to my right. Scared the sh*t out of me. Glad i can still go cycling again. As for weight training, no more heavy stuff. Haven't run since september last year, just brisk walks. Hopefully i can run again soon, injury-free.

Maybe it's not the running necessarily but just fit in other stuff? Life's too short to only do one thing all the time definitely gotta change it up a bit once in a while.
