The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 has a 3,300mAh battery on board and it's been getting a lot of criticism. I personally believe the claims are a little over blown however I can understand the frustration. Thanks! I turned on the auto optimisation, auto restart, adaptive power saving, turned off some gestures, edge panels and nearby device scanning. That should improve the battery life quite a bit!

Great tips! Deep sleeping apps are very useful for saving battery. The other thing that really helps is the automatic sync. I personally do not need my email apps and pretty much any other apps to sync since I just open up my email and refresh it anyhow. Unless you are someone that needs to see every single new email that comes into your inbox, it's best just to turn off sync.

Another thing I turn off is "turn on wifi automatically", "intelligently select the best wifi", "scanning always available" and "passpoint". I forgot exactly what some of these are called but it's something like that in the WiFi settings.

I was getting around 3h and 30m screen on time, or 16h of use on a full charge with everything on, but with just the above settings that I mentioned modified, I am now getting around 6h of screen on time, or around 22h of use on a full charge now, so it's definitely enough to last me through the day. Sure, with a another phone that has a larger battery, these settings will also decrease battery usage a lot as well, but at least this makes the Z Flip 3 a usable phone.

I don't really like using 60hz because 120hz is so nice, but I'm sure this will save a lot of battery too. I guess if you're usually watching videos then you can use 60hz because you don't really get 120fps videos anyhow. I still leave the always on display on the outside screen, I tried turning it off but I actually did not notice a difference in battery usage at all. This tells me that the always on outer display doesn't use much battery, which is great!

So despite knowing battery isn't upto standards of my use case, I still went for Z Flip 3 (coming from iPhone 12) as iPhones doesn't excite me anymore, same old improvements with apple, a bit better camera here, slightly faster chip there. I'm honesty interested in the innovation which samsung is doing and R&D to fold the freakin glass. Lets see how it goes, it'll arrive next sunday as they are out of stock everywhere as demand have far exceeded samsung's expectations (atleast here in India).
I'll still keep my iPhone 12 as a backup phone though!

I've been using dark wallpapers and dark mode for years. Remember, you can force dark mode on all of your apps, even the ones that don't support it. Just make sure you have developer options enabled.
P.S. Did something tonight I didn't see coming...managed to pinch a finger opening my Flip 3....actually hurt a little. 😂

Started using z flip 3 about 2 days ago. I think I've been too conscious about the battery life since that's what everyone warns and talks about. I was shocked when I realised battery drains pretty fast even though the phone is left alone for hours, I'm not really sure what setting or background activity I should turn off or anything else that I can do since android is so customisable.

Some said give it a week or two, it'll be better after system learning battery usage. This is what I can rely on now.

I upgraded to flip 3 from my note 8. And the battery capacity is the same! Phones that are 4 years apart. But I can still get a full days use from it. So can't really complain.

The battery is the only reason I haven't bought this yet. I'm a nurse so I work 13 hours a day and the horror stories had me thinking this phone would be dead by 4pm. I'm a light user when I'm working so I'm thinking it might be OK with all these adaptations. When I'm off I do have something on in the background most of the time. I'm not good with silence. Don't think it will hold up on that
