To be fair… When they mention how most ship claims are for non destroyed ships it’s also worth recognizing that a large portion of those are from game/ships bugging out. It’s a regular occurrence for the ship to be in/on the hangar and only claimable not storable, or unrepairable/unfuelable.

80% of the claimed ships are the ships that bug out in terminal and you can only claim a new one

After all the confusion due to Jared's Spectrum "mistake" it is nice to have a clear concise explanation. Thanks LoudGuns!

Honestly, clearing this up has helped massively. This game has been in the corner of my eye for soooo many years now and my main reason for not purchasing it was not knowing how this insurance worked. There was too much confusing info online everywhere and I did not want to waste my money. I can finally say I will be joining the armada and hope to see you in the universe some time :D Cheers for this!

Quick side note, some info on how much the insurance costs with ingame credits would be nice. What type of packs etc

i think the whole idea behind insurance and warranties on ships is incredibly stupid. i get they wanna make a space simulation game, but there comes a point where realism starts to become tedious and not fun. it's pretty stupid how i paid money for a starter package with an Aegis Titan only to receive 6 months of insurance for the ship.

insurance should be an option you should ONLY be able to purchase in-game with in-game currency, not real money. this is why people think this game is a scam, which honestly, looks more and more like it the deeper i get into this game.

Wow pirates are going to utterly destroy players fun with this insurance, now they may have to go buy the ship etc everytime too.

Paying for an asset with real money should indicat you always have access to that asset in game under any condition unless it is a stated consumable or you break your game rules and TOS aka cheating.
Hence, any pledged ships should as indicated have unlimited warranty which is the right move. Having an insurance is the game here and as it should other than that having different insurance time intervals means shit.

Nothing changed really, just added another layer of processing it. And in my opinion LTI insurance never have been more valuable. I can now understand that my LTI ships will never give me the headache of having to think if I need to renew the insurance for them or not.

Wonder if weapons in the weapon racks and armor in the suit lockers will be covered under 'decorations'

What level of insurance would you need for a store bought customised 300 series? Will the customisations count as part of the chassis?

Imagine having to go to the one banu dealer on the edge of the galaxy if you bought the banu merchantman in game . And they give you money after you’re exploded (after 1.0, which at best 2030- also assuming you didn’t get an in verse warranty)

Half of the unclaimed ships remaining in game are from the servers causing their loss forcing a claim.

Thanks for info! Sounds like a great system! It would encourage multi crew game play to make up the money to reclaim my ship. Or to get help to go get my ship and repair it. Or drag back to station

Don't know if I just spaced out and missed it but, what about insurance on internal stuff? Yeah, I'm sure we'll have cargo insurance but what about things like armor or weapons stored on the ship? Are those covered under decoration insurance or are we just SOL if we put our weapons/armor on the rack and then pancake into a mountain?

Thanks Loud Guns for always good, solid content!

An important question for me, is an upgraded ship or are upgraded components (via Blueprints, farming and crafting) taken into account for T1, T2 and T3 insurance?

If the ship is lost/pirated or destroyed, will I get a T1 or the upgraded Tier of the ship and components?

If T1, will it be worth to take the risk of losing f.e. T5 ships/components? If you get the upgrade, then where is the risk? :)

Seems like daily drivers, maybe even resource ships should have both warranties and insurance because I expect them to go poof often. Then again, expensive ships need it too so you don't cry when they go to the ship graveyard also.

Where do modules fit in? Like the retaliator and galaxy?
