Well, it was also because Dawn Ostroff took over as CW Head and killed the show. She hated it because it wasn’t a show she created. She also tried to destroy Smallville so yeah, she has bad taste anyway.

I saw the pilot. Justin Hartley played aquaman. This was before he became green arrow, and they decided Alan was actually a good fit for the role in Smallville

I watched the pilot for the Aquaman show called Atlantis. I honestly don’t know why it wasn’t picked up, it had the potential to be as big as what the Arrow is now.

We had it so good back then. A fledgling JLA with a Green Arrow who isn't a broody bitch the whole time, and an Aquaman who... also wasn't a broody bitch the whole time.

The thing that gets glossed over here is that the guy they cast, Justin Hartley, was awesome and that pilot was awesome lol. It had Ving Rhames, Lou Diamond Phillips, and Adrianne Palicki in it. One of the biggest “What If’s” in TV for me…

Ok, but no one knew who Tom was before Smallville or Grant Gustin, Stephen Amell, and literally anyone else the CW ended up using, so it wouldn't have been far fetched to use him either.

That was my favorite episode of season 5. The pilot was okay but it would have been better with Alan.
