From the Flight Deck - Kalamazoo/Battle Creek International Airport (AZO)
Показать описание
Kalamazoo/Battle Creek International Airport (AZO) is a medium sized, multi-use airport located on the southeast edge of the city of Kalamazoo in Michigan. Fifteen miles east of AZO is Battle Creek Executive at Kellogg Field (BTL). Although they have different airport configurations, pilots still mistake BTL for AZO and vice versa. First time visitors need to be aware of this and plan accordingly. The runway configuration consists of one large runway and two smaller runways that intersect it. The complex taxiway system provides access to all terminals, services, and hangars located on the northwest and southwest sides of the airport. While AZO is served by several air carriers, the bulk of the traffic is made up of general and corporate aviation aircraft. Western Michigan University’s College of Aviation is based at BTL as well. This diverse mix of pilot experience and aircraft capability require increased attention when flying to this airport, especially if it’s your first time there. This video prepares pilots for hot spots, challenges and runway configuration details at AZO.
