NATO's Stoltenberg Says Russian Invasion on Ukraine is a 'Brutal Act of War'

Показать описание
NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg condemned Russian military action in Ukraine on Thursday after President Vladimir Putin ordered a military offensive.
"This is a grave moment for the security of Europe. Russia's unjustified and unprovoked attack on Ukraine is putting countless innocent lives at risk," Stoltenberg said during a briefing in Brussels.
"We call on Russia to immediately cease its military action, withdraw its forces from Ukraine and choose diplomacy."
Russia launched a wide-ranging attack on Ukraine on Thursday, hitting cities and bases with airstrikes or shelling, as civilians piled into trains and cars to flee.
Ukraine's government said Russian tanks and troops rolled across the border in what it called a “full-scale war” that could rewrite the geopolitical order and whose fallout already reverberated around the globe.
