SR20DE, Should You Swap It For An SR20VE?

I've done a lot of miles with both engines, the SR20DE and the SR20VE.

Was it worth swapping the DE for the VE?

If your DE is in good condition, I would recommend putting a turbo on it instead of fitting a VE.

If your DE is tired, a rebuild will cost around 600-800 GBP and you see VEs for around 1200GBP these days. So swapping to a VE is probably the way to go and put a turbo on it later.

But if you can stretch to an SR20VET, that would be the ultimate. Obviously!

Still stand by the DE! The money for a VE swap and to get it running isn't worth it,
4-2-1 manifold and a 2.5" system and proper induction kit, advance the timing on the dizzy and finally some Tomei 260 Poncams you are looking around 180ish bhp for less than money than a VE

SR20VE+T OR SR20VET. head of Variable Valve is te best option. SR20DE+VE Head too.
