Understanding R Squared From Example|R Squared clearly explained.

In this video, I explain how is R square computed by tools such as python. I have explained how to calculate R squared by hand. Below questions are answered in this video:

What is R squared?
What is R squared in regression model?
What is R squared in Regression?
How to calculate R squared in Excel?
What is meaning of R squared?
What if formula for R squared?
How to calculate R Squared by hand?

Aman, I don't have a professional or academic background in stats, just a data analyst trying to be prepared for a job interview.

Your explanation on SLR, MLR and R squared has been the only resource I found easy to understand. You just changed my life.

Many blessings to you brother, from a venezuelan in Argentina.

Hi Aman,
To answer your question, Rsquare by default increases when number of independent variable increases.. However adjusted rsquare increases only when significant independent variables are added to model and decreases when least significant independent variable are added

R Square will keep on getting better as you add more and more features but adjusted R square is only going to increase when a significant feature is added. In Adj R squared, there is a penalty term which is added which will penalizes the term every time an insignificant feature is added.

Explanation is excellent. Now I understood. But how adjusted R2 works can you please explain?

Thanks Aman for making better understanding. The difference between Rsquare and Adjusted Rsquare, If we add more variables to the model, definitely R-sqaured will increase but Adjusted R-squared will not always increase except the added variable is significant.

completely satisfied with your explanation.if possible, then please make a video on level of significance . Thank you

Adjusted r-square is a modified form of r-square whose value increases if new predictors tend to improve model’s performance and decreases if new predictors do not improve performance as expected.

Sir i saw few videos about r squared like excelfun in that rsquared is calculated as SSR/SST BUT I SEE 1-SSR/SST WHICB IS CORRECT PLEASE TELL

Sir, pls give video on adjusted r square. It will be very helpful.

Adjusted R Square increases only if the new predictor improves the model more than would be expected by chance.

when do we use R square versus confidence intervals to evaluate the predictibility of the model?

Hi, Please reply to my doubts on videos 4 of this playlist.
I am actually learning and studying DS through your videos. As I get doubts I post. Need your replies to continue learning like this without developing any understanding gaps.
Thanks!

Hello sir, I am making a project on income and health expenses, my r-squared value comes out less than 1%. What should i interpret from this? Should i change my linear model or try other? What should i do?

How does r square=0. 678 means?..does it indicate the significance or insignifance

Thanks for the to increase R squared value from around 67% to around 80-85%?
