That hole in the bottom is a spout to easily dump the fish out. You're supposed to tie it off with a string of some type and untie it over a bucket or something to empty it out.

I have used umbrella fish traps for 8 years and I catch minnows, cat fish, bluegill, craw dads and bass in them. That’s why I love them so much. Plus they are way cheaper than the cage trap. And the hole at the bottom is for bait.

Ur supposed to tie the big whole on bottom or rubber band it it etc.... close it up and when you're ready to empty the trap, u untie the bottom and empty it out. I usually see them where the fabric line around hole on the bottom, used to release what u catch, is like 3 feet long

The hole at the bottom is to release the catch in your bucket. You close it with a little rope and open when full

Those chub minnows get massive, I was fishing with my friend in cold water and he got a one and a half pound chub, we almost ate it but it got away.

I believe I've seen this before. That two black hole in the bottom. You're supposed to tie it with a string that can be easily undone. And put it over a 5-gallon bucket. Then all you have to do is for the fish towards that middle hole and everything goes in the bucket. Not sure everybody knows that. But that's the reason why it was there.
