If you’re unfamiliar with a fruit, do NOT buy an entire box of it. Buy a single fruit and try it out first. Korean pears are wonderfully juicy and lightly sweet. Satsuma mikan (tangerines) are insanely sweet and delicious when they are in season. I love trying to get the skin off in one piece because they slip right off. They are by far superior to the more widely available “cuties”.

I forgot to mention that if bulk fruit is too much, I just look at what’s being sold in bulk and buy the smaller packaging 🙂

The yellow mangoes in the Philippines are the bomb. If you're lucky, you'll get one that literally tastes like candy 🌻

I 💯 % agree with the yellow mangoes! Green red 🥭 are good, more fruit, maybe cheaper. But the small yellow mangoes taste better and are softer and more juicy. They get ripe faster too!

Yeah had to wait till almost the end to realize this was dedicated for USA. Here in (Eastern) Canada we go to cash and carry's for bulk items as they supply restaurants thus having cheapest prices and best quality. They traditionally cost 1/2 (out of season) to 3/4 (in season) less than those at bulk stores like Costco (per example 15lb russet potatoes at Costco 10.95$ whereas a C&C is 50lb for 17.99$ or 25lb for 9.49$). Best mangoes (flavour wise) are Alfonso variety imported express (by plane) from India. Nothing else compares.

Korean's haven't let their Corporations tell them how to raise food. Please Korea, your food is beautiful so don't do what usa has done. I'm in usa and my friends and I always comment on the beautiful Foods we see from Korea and Japan and the Philippines. The lesson is don't let the government tell you how to raise food because you will starve.

H mart does have awesome fruit! But I love the fruit that I’m able to get at the framers market or sprouts and the u pick farms near me I find it to be way better and cheaper because it’s locally grown here in California. I like H mart for more unique fruits though…

The produce in the Mexican Markets are so much better too! I don't see how regular U.S markets have such bad produce 😕

Those mangoes are called Ataulfo. We usually buy lots of them from HEB around summer. They're amazingly sweet and easy to use in sorbet, pudding, and custard. But the red and green mangoes are better for salads and to eat out of hand.
