One of the only known videos of a collector opening a pack of the famous 1952 Topps baseball cards. There's no Mickey Mantle in here, but it's incredible to see this history!! This 72-year-old pack opening was initially posted by The Ridges in 2017. These sealed packs can sell for as much as $100,000+ each! #mlb #baseballcards #baseball #packopening #mysterybox #history #explore #shorts

He's shaking like the wife is looking over his shoulder to see why the kids are no longer able to go to college.

If you look at the white wax paper covering the bubble gum, you could tell there’s a bunch of finger indentations in it showing that this was already tampered with before hand.

For those who don’t know, in 1952, many people didn’t buy baseball cards. This meant when the 1953 season started, they still had lots of ‘52 cards in their inventory. So they dumped all of the cards into the ocean to get rid of them. This means since only a few amount of people bought them, and not everyone may have kept them in good condition, good condition 1952 cards are extremely rare and expensive.

Typical for opening packs of Topps. Odds are never in your favor. Even in 1952

First series, no chance at the Mantle. I saw a similar pack for $4, 000 at the National. Still a cool video though!

No one has ever paid $100k for a pack of 52 Topps where you have a 1% chance of pulling a Mantle. 😂

The first two players, Al Rosen and Hank Sauer, won MVPs in back to back years. The Ferris Fain would probably grade a SGC or PSA 9. Rosen and Bauer probably end up as 7s.

These packs used to cost like 5 cents each way back in the day. Imagine if you had originally bought just 10 of these for 50 cents and never opened them. Best investment anyone could have ever made - by FAR.
