Very interesting video!!!... been pondering the byoc octave fuzz for a while, as it has a normal fuzz mode as well, like the Fulltone model, which I used to own one of, except the byoc version doesn't seem to have that crazy amount of volume drop when switching to the octave that the Fulltone Octafuzz has, which to me the byoc seems to be a better circuit design, probably not the best quality components but modern and low niose at least. Then this video, vs. the actual Octavia itself made by the original man himself... the byoc sounds a bit messier while the RM octavia seems to maintain better focus, but the byoc is louder from what I gather or has the capability of going louder at least with more fuzz saturation, and it has a normal fuzz mode which is supposedly much like the Dunlop Band of Gypsys Fuzz Face or the Dunlop Auth. Hendrix Gypsy Fuzz (3 knob version, which I also own one of and think it sounds fantastic!)... Probably should look into the BYOC Octave Fuzz as a good cotender hear cause they also sell prebuilt pedals in every model, so you dont have to be a DIY'er to get one, and for the price comparison there.... well no contest.
