2021 Triumph Trident 660 Review - Beyond the Ride

Показать описание
The 2021 Triumph Trident, a naked retro-themed motorcycle in the Philippines that goes for only P499,000. Notable features include its intoxicating exhaust note brought about by an inline-3 cylinder engine that produces 80 hp and 64 Nm of torque mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. It's got pretty much everything you need to cruise on the highway or to really wring it out on the twisties. Here's our review of this wonderful bike on this Episode of Beyond the Ride with Jinno Rufino.

Nice review. I am from Belgium and I ordered one just like the one you where driving. I am driving bikes for more than fifty years, 32 years on 1000cc fours, 47 years only on Yamaha. This is going to be the tenth bike in my collection and the 32th bike I bought.

Traded in my street twin for one, after 3yrs, just wanted a change! Street twin was a fine bike, but a tripple has a character all its own. I find it light and flickable, that extra cylinder makes it want to get up and go. Best gears 4 5 and 6. I have had no throttle issues, this bike wants to play, so that's what you do! I like that it's a 6 speed box for the highways, tho'most of my riding (in England) is on secondary roads, that's where its best! I looked at the mt07, great engine, but the overall quality was missing. Had bike 4 months, still smiling. 👍

I inquired about the Trident earlier this month and if you reserve by that time (P100k), you'll have your unit by August, the earliest. That's a relatively long waiting time. The shipments might have been affected by the recent Suez Canal crisis.

I’m so happy to see you show how it looks to sit on that bike. I’m also 5’6 so that is awesome!

Gorgeous bike! That thing is so satisfying to watch. If its handling is half as good as it looks, then it's a great bike... I really like your reviews, Jinno. greetings from Mexico.

Thanks- Great review but I was curious to the reference as being possibly the perfect first big bike or for a return to biking, So I went to the local dealer today and sat on one with the view if I got my leg over it would be worth considering for my return to biking I'm 60 and fear I've just hit my late mid life crisis. I last rode a Suzuki GSX 750 EX (now thought of by some as a monster bike) which In the hands of an inexperienced rider was lethal, a combination of skinny tyres, bags of grunt, poor brakes and no rider aids other than a LED gear position indicator which if you were looking at it you should have handed the keys back, I survived by good luck and good leathers.
The Triumph was just as I hoped, seriously good looking in the flesh and felt light and very comfortable I'm 5' 8" and a tad on the stocky side.
Here in the UK I doubt if we can legally get much more noise out of an aftermarket exhaust, but in my opinion the original tail pipe is very neat, although the headers don't look as they will do 20, 000 miles but time will tell. Other than that and possibly the cheap looking levers the bike is extremely well put together.

I hope when I've persuaded the wife that its a necessity to part with £7, 500 (plus helmet, gloves etc) that I'll be able to let you know if this is the real deal.
Waiting for the test ride, just got to borrow a helmet that fits.
