Do you have a video about your studio lighting set up? In particular, you've got almost no glare off the spectacles and the hair-free zones atop your skull. I'm jealous and want to learn how to do that. Thanks.

Great video, even though you're not feeling well. I've taken your advice on several purchases this past year. All the best to you in 2023!

I tried using the XDM but the software seemed to complicated for my uses which is mostly voice-over. Thankfully, I was able to return it and bought the Shure MV7. This along with the SM7B's pop filter makes it sound almost like its most expensive counterpart in USB mode, using the USB software.

I got myself some stuff this December including an Elgato Wave XLR. I love finally having 75 db of gain on a preamp. While I know you can boost in post and most do, it always bothered me to have XLR gear that I can't use well at good levels for personal live use (video calls, gaming) as well as recording. Also really love the fact the Elgato supports VSTs for live processing albeit with a little latency when monitoring. Would have really liked the Rode Rodecaster Pro II but it is too big for my desk, I don't use more than one XLR currently, and it is a lot more money. Considering the Elgato Wave XLR was on sale for $119, and I had $125 in Amazon gift cards from work, I picked up the Elgato Wave XLR for about $6 out of pocket - which is a far cry from what the Rodecaster would have cost me. I might get the Rode NTH-100 headphones for post as well .. or maybe I'll just use my PC38X for that. I primarily just do VO and I'm not an aspiring audio engineer so I don't necessarily need the best most accurate monitors. I'm not that guy who is going to mix award winning audio. Not an audio engineer, just another dude. I think I'm going to pickup Wave plugins also: Clarity VX, Sibiliance, and Vocal Rider.

We still need 1 or 2 more sub-interfaces on USB-1 one, but yes, Røde knocked it out of the ballpark with the Rødecaster Pro II. That is a fair assessment.

Hello, please can somebody help me? i just bought a dynacaster + wave xlr, and only with 30-45 db of gain it sounds very much of background noise, and my voice is not too lauder in comparicion with the background noise taken. It is my first experiencdesperatee with dynamic microphones, so i dont know if this is normal, to have that much background noise, like a coundersor my im really desperate be cause i dont know if something is wrong or maybe i recived something broken and i cant notice it be cause of my no expeirience with this king of mics.

More details: at 30-40 db of gain (40 direct from wave xlr or even with +30db preamp with phantom power +10db in wave xlr.) and with the door and windows open, there can be captured by the microphone the sound of birds, and the sound of my dogs barking from arround 33 feet, or the sound of my fan in the room, from arround 6 feet away, no treated room. My voice is not really to lauder in this setting, so i dont undertand why mi mic has the behaaviour of my old usb condensor mic. I dont see no one in videos having this problem. All personn that review this mic do not have this problem, they are well listened, and with practicle 0 background noise ¿Some body knows what is happening? ¿should i ask for the waranty of my mic or audio interface?

First seen dynacaster in your video. I have it for a week now and it's a bargain at this pricepoint. Best 250$ mic i had so far!

Can you make a review for wireless mic sennheiser ew g4, I've tried it recently and I think it easily beat Shure SM7b in quality, however it is very expensive lav mic :)

Presonus did release two USB+DSP mics this year. One Dynamic and one Condenser, with the same DSP from the io24.

Good and accurate list. The one issue I have that stops me getting one of the Rode X mics is that Unify is currently PC Only. Get that Mac version and I'm on-board. Oh and Happy Christmas and a jovial new year 😀
