Brief information about #Azerbaijan :)
1. The world's first oil refinery was built in Baku. As the first country to export Caspian oil to the West, Azerbaijan is also the world's oldest oil exporter. In addition, in 1848, for the first time in the world, industrial refining of oil began in Baku.

2. The Azerbaijan Democratic Republic, which declared its independence in 1918, became the first Democratic Republic in the east. Although the republic lasted only 23 months, it regained its independence in 1991 with the collapse of the USSR.


3. Azerbaijan is the first Muslim country in the world to give women the right to vote and stand for election, before the United States and Switzerland. It should be noted that women were given this right in Azerbaijan in 1918.
4. The first musical opera in the East was staged in Baku. This opera was "Leyli and Majnun" by #UzeyirHajibeyov.
5. The largest number of IDPs forcibly expelled from their country in the world as a result of #Armenia's aggressive policy is in Azerbaijan.
6. Azerbaijan was the fastest growing country in the world in 2006, and according to World Bank statistics, the country with the most reforms in 2009.
