The bible reveals several covenants God has made with man at various times. Of these, two are particularly far-reaching in their scope. The Old Covenant was established through Moses with the ancient Jews. It was a fleshly covenant. The prophet Jeremiah pointed to a time, however, when God would establish a new covenant with spiritual Israel through Jesus Christ. Instead of being flashy, it is spiritual. Jews were born into the covenant by essence of their physical birth and subsequent circumcision. God's people would be born into the second covenant by means of a second birth and a circumcision of the heart. In part one of a two-part lesson we learn about The New and Better Covenant.
