If nothing else, it’d be a technique to clean off solar panels. I know they’ve used RTGs to power the last to rovers we’ve sent up there, but the probes and rovers before that (Spirit, Opportunity, Pathfinder etc.) all shut down because their solar panels got caked with dust and their batteries drained out.
