Coby, Ayo, Matas, P will and julian phillips have also been hugely inconsistent this year but for some reason giddey is the one who gets questioned on it the most, people seem to have a grudge against him because of the trade he was brought in on yet thats not something he had any control over.

The road to being a star is reducing the impact of a bad game. If a bad game is only a small drop off he will be fine. Especially as a point guard he will need to work out teams who cover him more or he has a bad game he still needs to stay switched on, keep his energy up on d and transition to find the hot player and keep it rolling. Consistency is largely preparation and mentality, part of which is natural, part is motivation to achieve goals and part is the leaders around him, coaching staff, assistant's etc. this team has talent, the staff need to work out how to get the best out of them game in game out. If the player doesnt put in their part move them on.
Tanking is a loser mentality that will build loser basketball and destroy these players and fans. Play to win and aim to be the best is the only way forward

Another incredibly shallow take: dud HAS been consistent this year - he's effing 22YO. Name ANOTHER 22YO that has had his numbers and has been consistent in the circumstances Giddey has faced. Give him to the Spurs and then whine for the next 10 years that you pissed away another opportunity.
