President Joe Biden plans to announce Wednesday that his administration will require nursing homes to vaccinate their staff against the coronavirus in order to receive federal funding, a person familiar with the matter said.

The new requirement will apply to more than 15,000 facilities that currently participate in the Medicare and Medicaid programs, according to the person who discussed the policy before the president’s remarks on condition of anonymity.

We have a workers shortage already in nursing homes and this is only going to make it worse, even CNN admits that there is a problem "A June 2021 survey from the American Health Care Association and National Center for Assisted Living (AHCA/NCAL) found 94% of nursing home providers had a shortage of staff members in the last month -- and more than half lost key members of their staff during the pandemic due to workers quitting." Rejecting qualified applicants or removing existing staff because of vaccination status will only make this workers shortage worse

A wax statue can have more facial expressions. I agree with this measure btw. Nursing homes saw the craziest number of deaths & anything we can do to mitigate it would be good.
