My favorite is Tank Man. He is a hero and he never knew how important he is as a symbol of fighting injustice. That holds true whether he is dead or alive

The original Poe Toaster was active from the 1930’s into the 1990’s and came in the dark, pre-Dawn hours. He was supposedly rarely seen nor caught on film. (Pre-social media for sure!) Almost like a phantom. The Toaster shown in video is a re-enactor.

I read a biography of Rasputin written by one of his daughters. Definitely a different perspective on the man. Most bios ignore the fact he was married & had children back in Siberia.

Thank you for the update, WatchMojo..!! 11:50 Nikola Tesla once wrote a letter to his mother about how he was having difficulties in the new world. I learned the details later, and that made me feel sad and upset. May he rest in peace..

I knew Jack would be first, crazy how his identity remains unsolved and probably always will be.

Another figure who could be on this list is Sun Tzu, legendary author of The Art of War. We know virtually nothing about who he was or if he was a single individual or multiple people working under a pen name.

I remember that I was in the military and over-seas at the time of the Tank man footage...even then we knew that if this dude survived, he wouldn't for long because of the communism in China... so yeah, they made him disappear pretty quick.

Australia did the most Australian thing following Harold Holt’s disappearance….they named a swimming pool after him.

Thanks for acknowledging the Tank Man

I’d like to see a movie about Tiananmen Square one day. If it’s in Mandarin than Ang Lee should make it

That photo of Tesla with the electricity around him that is referred to is, famously, doctored. Its a combination of Tesla sat somewhere else superimposed on a different photo of a Tesla coil.
