An old Aussie mechanic once told me, ''No worries mate. If it's leaking oil, it's still got oil in it.'' 😂😂

You can wrap rescue tape (self amalgamating) around the leaking book at the end where the clamp is and down onto the hub, that will stop it leaking until you have it fixed. If the boots are not split it will probably be fine for some time. It's easy to do if you jack the wheel off the ground so you can spin it. Mine started weeping at about 100, 000 klms and haven't seen any more leakage since using the tape, maybe 10 years ago.

As someone that is alone in the wilderness on a regular basis I will tell you, If the sound stops or you feel scared listen to your gut. There has been multiple times I felt uneasy or the hairs stand up on the back of your neck and it turned out to be a mountain lion or a bear near me.

If you are going to be overlanding, especially alone like you do, I would highly recommend getting a factory service manual for your truck and keeping a few spare parts around and a tool kit for the truck. You can change a CV axle on the trail and these are a common part to break too. Most people that are serious about going off the grid will keep a spare CV on hand along with some other common parts like tie rod ends etc... torn boots is not the worst thing but it will wear out the CV's fast once dirt mixes with the grease and acts like sand paper. Once that happens your hopes of just replacing the boots are gone and it moves to buying brand new axles. Most of the time they just replace the whole unit anyway now though. It's actually a lot easier to work on your vehicle than you think especially following the factory service manual which lays everything out in steps.

You looked scared on this video until you got to the cabin
Get that CV boot fixed asap as atm its only a boot to fix, get sand in the and you will need a new cv as well
Love how you still have the NSW plates on the cruiser

Ah, yes, the call of loons... there is a lake I go camping at that as darkness falls, the loons start calling out... i now find it very calming when it's just me and sitting around a fire... awesome content. Thanks for sharing!
